How to write a business plan? I already wrote a post about the importance of a business plan. Paradoxically, many people consider the business plan to be nonsense, a formality for bank credit managers.

When the plan was not drawn up ...

In my opinion, creating your own business without a business plan (even a small one) is like starting building a house without calculations and drawings. So if you do not want your business to look like a typical long-term construction, you need to calculate your strengths and the feasibility of your chosen business in advance, on paper.

To begin with, I must say that there are several varieties of a business plan:

This is the first version - a small business plan for oneself (and partners, if any). If you need a full-fledged business plan, then you should contact the specialists, especially if you have no experience in writing analytical documents. Finding such people, in principle, is not so difficult, in our time there are more than enough economists. Their knowledge is another matter, with this we have serious problems. So I advise you to look for help not from a friend of your neighbor's friend, a friend's wife's wife, but from a competent professional with experience.

So, let's draw up a small business plan of 5-10 pages. What will this document consist of?

  • Description of the concept (what kind of business is it, what kind of products do you have, what is the market, partners, division of responsibility, etc.)
  • Market analysis (who is your client and where to look for it, what competitors are there, why your product will be in demand, etc.)
  • Financial analysis (how much money you need to invest, how much do you plan to earn, when you expect a profit, etc.)

Hereinafter - just an example, these are not real numbers and calculations!

Suppose I decided to open a small candy store in one of the districts of Almaty. My product is confectionery products of domestic ("Rakhat", "Bayan-Sulu", "Karaganda Candy") and foreign companies.

Form of organization - LLP. I plan to open a business with a partner in a ratio of 60 to 40 in my favor. We invest in the same proportion. I am responsible for the general running of the business in the store and the rental of premises (I know a great place in mind and its owner), and the partner is responsible for working with suppliers and marketing (he has experience in this area). We register all these things in official documents (so as not to refer to conversations in the future).

Business in Kazakhstan

Starting a business in Kazakhstan, we first define the legal status.

In Kazakhstan, two forms of business organization can be used: an individual entrepreneur and an organization (or its branch). An individual entrepreneur must register with the territorial tax authority of Kazakhstan. The activities of an entrepreneur without registration are prohibited. Individuals are recognized as entrepreneurs if one of the following conditions is met: 1) the presence of employees on a permanent basis 2) the total annual income from entrepreneurial activities in excess of the tax-free income established by the legislative documents of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2021, the non-taxable monthly income in Kazakhstan is 14,952 tenge. Thus, if your income from activities in Kazakhstan exceeds the amount of 14952 multiplied by 12 (months), you should register as an individual entrepreneur and pay taxes.

For registration you will need an application of the established form, photograph x cm, document on payment of the state registration fee

The amount of the fee is calculated from the monthly calculation index multiplied by 4. In 2021 the MCI is equal to 1413 tenge. the registration fee will be 5652 tenge. If you register a peasant (farm) farm, you will be exempted from paying the fee.

Registration takes place within one working day, about which a certificate is issued. If your chosen type of activity is subject to licensing, you must obtain all the necessary documents in accordance with the law on licensing of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

When registering a legal entity in Kazakhstan, you should first familiarize yourself with the legal framework and tax rates

Thus, corporate income tax in Kazakhstan is 20%, VAT - 12%, social tax on employers - residents and non-residents - 11%, and the property tax rate is only 1%. For special tax regimes for simplified taxation and taxation based on a patent, the rates are also very low - 3 and 2 percent, respectively. As you can see, the investment climate in Kazakhstan is favorable for beginners and experienced businessmen. There are also a number of benefits for small businesses. Small businesses in the republic include organizations with less than 50 employees and the value of assets for the year not exceeding the MCI multiplied by 60 (in 2021 it is equal to 1413 x 60 = 84,680 tenge).

Such enterprises can engage in any type of business except banking, insurance and securities trading. This is due to the organizational and legal forms of activities of such enterprises. The organizational and legal forms of small business in Kazakhstan provide for the formation of a simple partnership, a limited and additional liability partnership, and a production cooperative. All organizations, regardless of their organizational and legal form, have an authorized capital, a standard charter, a seal, a permanent executive body, and a legal address.

For state registration of an organization on the territory of the republic, it is necessary to pay a fee in five times the MCI (х = tenge)
